1. What is Zero Impact, biodegradable, home compostable coffee capsule?

It is a 100% biomass-based capsule made of vegetable oils and starch that completely decomposes in 6 months in home compost and leaves no toxic residues behind. Composting capsules at home requires the same temperature, moisture and aerating or turning conditions as normal home composting. Unlike industrial composting, there is no need for external temperature, moisture and pressure to start the process of decomposing. The capsule is TÜV Austria OK Home Compost certified.  

2. How do we deliver our products?

At the time of purchase, you have the option to choose where and with which service provider you would like your shipment to be sent. You can choose between Foxpost vending machines, GLS and home delivery. Delivery in Hungary takes 2-3 working days. International delivery takes 5-8 working days depending on the country. You can also chose free pick up at our locations. 

3. To which countries can I order?

At the moment you can order to the following countries: Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, Greece, Germany, France, Sweden, Finland, Estonia. If you wish to order to another country, please contact us at shop@almalombcoffee.com and we will help you.

4. What should I do if I have a complaint about the product?

You have 14 days from the date of order to change your mind and cancel the purchase without giving any reason. In this case, please return the product to us and we will refund the price of the product.

If you have a quality complaint about the product, please let us know as soon as possible. All such cases will be checked individually and depending on the problem, we may ask you to return the product so we can examine it. In such cases we will offer a replacement product or refund the purchase price.

5. How long is roasted coffee shelf life guaranteed?

Freshly roasted coffee has a shelf life of one year, but the best quality is achieved in the first 3 months. Once you opened the bag we recommend consuming it within 2 weeks. 

6. What is the shelf life of Zero Impact home compostable capsules?

The capsules are flashed with nitrogen, so if kept in a dry and cool place they will keep their quality for up to 1 year.

7. How should I store the capsules?

The capsules should be stored in a dry and cool place, free from humidity, because the compostable paper film can absorb moisture from the air, which can lead to clogging of the fibres and therefore the coffee will brew more slowly.

8. The coffee capsule does not brew. Why?

It is advisable to shake the capsule before putting it in the machine. If the relative humidity is high, the coffee may drain more slowly or drip.

9. How much coffee is in a capsule?

One capsule contains 5.5 g of ground coffee. 

10. What type of coffee capsules does Almalomb offer?

Almalomb only works with Nespresso compatible capsules. We offer aluminium and Zero Impact, home compostable coffee capsules.

11. How many capsules are in an AlmalombCoffee box?

Our smallest boxes contain 14 capsules. If you like our coffee, we recommend the 150 and 300 capsule packs, which require less packaging and are more affordable.

12. Why coffee from Almalomb is environmentally friendly?

Almalomb coffees are environmentally friendly because the packaging we use are compostable and completely biodegradable without any toxic substances. Our boxes are also made from environmentally friendly materials, starting from the box made of recycled coffee filter paper till the ink and glue we use. Our bags for the roasted beans are also home- and industrial compostable.

13. How do I use Almalomb coffee capsules?

You can easily use Almalomb coffee capsules in any Nespresso compatible coffee machine, such as Krups or DeLonghi. Just insert the capsule into the machine, choose whether you want short or long coffee and enjoy the taste of fresh coffee, made easy, every day.

14. What is specialty coffee?

Specialty coffee is a quality category that refers to coffee that meets the highest quality standards. This coffee is made from the highest quality beans, carefully selected and roasted. Qualified experts, called Q-graders, taste and evaluate the beans. The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) sets out specific guidelines and a scale of 1 to 100 points, where coffee scoring 80 or more is considered a specialty coffee.

15. Why should I choose coffee beans?

When coffee beans are freshly ground, it allows you to fully experience the taste and aroma of coffee. Ground coffee can be used in most various coffee brewing tools and allows for individual experimentation. If you have the passion and equipment, you can create stunningly different and amazing coffees from freshly roasted high quality beans and discover the unique tastes of different origins, roast intensity and brewing methods.

16. Can I order ground coffee?

Yes, from the very fine grinds used for espresso to the coarse grinds recommended for filter coffee, we offer also ground coffee. If you can't find it in our web shop, contact us at shop@almalombcoffee.com and we will fix it for you.

17. What is the AlmalombCoffee subscription?

A coffee subscription allows you to receive fresh, quality coffee in your home at regular intervals without having to make weekly or monthly errands. With a subscription, you can choose to order for yourself or as a gift for someone else. You can then specify the type of coffee, quantity, packaging and frequency of delivery, and we will deliver it to your door. You can also choose to pay in advance for the whole order at a discount or pay per delivery.

18. What is private label coffee?

If you have a business idea for which you would like to have coffee products under your own brand name, we can make the coffee you want. Or, if you would like to give a gift to your business partners, or colleagues, we can provide the coffee under your brand name.
